Hesti, The Owner
Married to Keith for almost 20 years. Hesti lives in Tekapo New Zealand where she Manages the MacKenzie Apartments and Suites. Prior to moving to Lake Tekapo, 4 years ago, and together with husband, Keith they ran a successful business specialising in improving tourist properties in New Zealand. Aroha Villa was purchased in 2024 and completely renovated and refurbished.
The villa
Originally, when purchased, the villa had been constructed to a higher standard than similar villas. It is a typical Balinese minimalist design with a small tropical garden, pool and open living with large open space from the lounge, kitchen dining area to the pool, garden, and a courtyard. The refubishment involved the addition of 6 x 3 meter sliding glass doors with full legnth curtains, all new handmade bespoke furniture, modernisation of the bathrooms, a 50" Smart TV with Sony surround sound, and a total refit of the kitchen.
Your own Transport
We complete your holiday by offering the villa car for your convenience at any time during your stay.
You want to go out for dinner, call Adhi, he will pick you up, drop you off and take you home again.
You want to see the rice terraces, the Water Temple, Snorkling in Menjangan, Botanical Gardens, Fishing, Dolphin watching
- Adhi will take you.
The cost is less than any other operator.
Keith, (now retired)
Keith is English born and a Kiwi since 1962. Before retirement he had a varied career spanning numerous professions. Attending Massey University and gaining qualifications in food technology he worked in the NZ Dairy Co. (Fonterra), for 25 years, prior to leaving the company for a life in the New Zealand Tourist Industry. First as an owner of three restaurants and then as a partner for Hesti.
Service & Security
Whilst the Balinese are well known for their honesty and friendliness there is a high
level of petty theft from homes. There are padlocked gates to the
courtyard and lockable heavy double doors to the house and garden. There are two security cameras covering
the road at the front and vineyards at the back of the property.
Hesti's brother, Adhi, and his wife Siti
are paid full time Managers of the Villa. They have been trained by Hesti to listen to your needs and to do
everything they can to ensure you have the very best holiday EVER.
